How
to
play

Game Rules

Be the first team to reach 21 points!

Set up

Place the boards 27 feet apart. Play 1-on-1 or 2-on-2. In doubles, teammates stand at opposite boards.

Throw the ball

Players take turns throwing the Ace Ball at the opposite board. The receiving player will attempt to make a one-handed catch when the ball bounces off the board.

Scoring

  • 1 Point - Hit the board without a completed one-handed catch. The ball must be caught with one hand only, without using the other hand or any part of the body to help secure or control the catch.
  • 3 Points — Throw it through the top hole for a Field Goal.
  • 6 Points — Throw it through the bottom hole for a Touchdown. The ball must remain in the hole to score. If it bounces out, it scores 1 point.
  • 0 Points — Miss the board completely.

Winning

First team to 21 points wins — but you must win by 2.

Redemption

Think the game is over? Not quite.
After the winning score, the losing team gets one redemption throw. If they match the winning points scored on the previous throw, those points are taken away and the game continues.

Ace's way to play

These are the official Ace Ball rules("Ace's way to play") but players are welcome to adjust gameplay to fit their style - such as:

  • Moving boards closer
  • Allowing two-hand catches
  • Adding defensive variations
